Clare smith marash

Writer and producer Clare Smith Marash is the head of development for SALTY Features and has led production of the company’s commissioned work. She is a graduate of the University of Michigan, where she won a Hopwood Award in Short Fiction, and Columbia University, where she received a Masters of Fine Arts.

Nick Kochmann

Nick Kochmann is the Associate Producer at SALTY Features. After working on several acclaimed documentary films, he brings a variety of experience to SALTY and is involved in all facets of the company. He is a graduate of the New York Film Academy’s Documentary Filmmaking Program. He directed and produced an award winning short documentary that premiered at the Nassau Film Festival.

The SALTY Features name was initially inspired by fairy tales about salt, by the importance of salt throughout history, by the search for a name that is both simple and essential, by the love of savory food – and by Yael’s minor obsession with balancing a salt cellar on a single grain of salt.
